My Mom likes to tell the story of when she met George Peppard. She was young and living in southern California during the late 60s to early 70s and one day she was at the grocery store with her dad. He left her in the checkout line with some items while he went to go pick a few more things out.  She was having trouble carrying everything and suddenly, from behind, George Peppard walked up and offered to hold the groceries until her dad got back.  They talked for awhile and she remembers him being very funny and stunningly handsome.  When her dad got back, he recognized him and said “Thank you Mr. Peppard.”  She never forgot that day.
